Chowrasia wins Solaris Open Golf 2010 Leading Indian
professional, SSP Chowrasia, fired a blistering seven under par
65 on the fourth day to win the Solaris ChemTech Open Golf
Championship 2010 held between 10th and 13th March at the
Classic Golf Resort outside New Delhi. Chowrasia, who totaled 13
under 275 for the tournament, ended his two-year long
title-drought with this victory. The Kolkata golfer finished
one-stroke ahead of round three leader R Murthy. Solaris
continued its sponsorship of the Professional Golf Tour of India
(PGTI) for the fourth consecutive year, this time with an
enhanced prize purse of Rs.40 lakhs. The Pro-Am was held on
14th March 2010 with 26 professionals and 78 amateurs in the
field. Professional Vivek Bhandari’s team of Arjuna Awardee Amit
Luthra, Ashish Bharatram, and Aditya Tripathi won the Pro-Am. |
